Briton and I are coming up on 14 years of marital bliss! And over the past 14 years, I have attended my fair share of bridal showers. It made me start to think – what would I change about wedding registry now that I have been married for a while?? Do you regret some of your choices?? Would you keep everything the same?? One thing I definitely wouldn’t change is making a registry at Macy’s! They continue to carry the best brands that will last you for many years to come in your marriage!
Another reason to register is to take advantage of the Macy’s Win your Dream Registry happening now – enter for your chance to win! 5 lucky winners will win all items on their registry, up to $5,000 each. Abbreviated Rules:
I put a list together of my top ten items to register for! Everything can be found at Macy’s!
While the toys in the background may not have happened at the beginning of our married life together, good towels were a bathroom staple! One piece of advice I give to the bride-to-be is to register for 15-20 towels. That sounds like so much, but I took about half of the towels we received as a gift and tucked them away in our linen closet! A couple years down the road, it felt SO GOOD to have some fresh towels! I am also a HUGE fan of white towels – you can bleach them if they get too dirty, and they just have a fresh feeling to them!
Another great thing to register for at Macy’s is bedding! Martha Stewart has an amazing line of bedding including our white quilt! I love the look of an all white bed! And while it may sound a little silly to have white bedding with a black dog and two kids, I can bleach my bedding if needed, but most of the time, it really washes up amazingly! I would also highly recommend ordering at least two sets of sheets! That way when it comes time to wash your sheets you don’t have to wait to remake your bed! I also love white bedding because even if you change your paint color, your bedding will still match no matter what color you decide!
3. China
If there is one regret I have from our registry, it’s that I didn’t register for china! Shoot! Turns out, I do like to be fancy occasionally! And of course, Macy’s has the cutest kate spade new york China I have ever seen!!! It’s classic yet adorable! I kind of want to purchase myself a little gift every Christmas – one place setting a year!! So if you are a bride-to-be, learn from my mistake!! Register for that china!
If there is one product I use in my kitchen nearly EVERY day, it’s my Vitamix! Briton’s grandma gave us her old Vitamix because she was no longer using it. This thing is over 30 years old and still going strong! They are built to last! But if you do have a problem, they also have great customer service! Yes, a Vitamix is an investment, but trust me, it is well worth it! I secretly have been hoping that mine would stop working so I could get a new one because there are so many cool options on the new one! But no! This thing just won’t quit!
My KitchenAid Mixer is another gadget I would not want to live without!!! Briton’s grandma purchased this for us and gave it to me at one of my showers! I recently purchased the spiralizer attachment and seriously love it! I am amazed at all the different attachments that are available depending on your wants or needs!
Another great thing we registered for were some pieces for some outdoor entertaining! Macy’s carries a few great lines to entertain your guests! Did you know they carry great brands like Vera Bradley and kate spade new york? I love these kate spade new york striped dinner plates and Vera Bradley appetizer plates! These are made of a strong melamine so if you guests drop them, no big deal! These napkins and placemats just help complete the scene! And how adorable is this melamine pitcher?? While having china is such a fun thing to have when you have a fancy dinner party, having a great selection of outdoor pieces is a great thing to add to your registry!
You may have noticed that I put the word “good” in front of several pieces! That’s because you will never regret having quality items in your home. And when you get married, it is the perfect time to let others help fill your home with pieces that will last for years to come. I have had my Wusthof knives since we got married! They remain amazing knives! They are certainly an investment that is well worth the price! The knife I am holding is my favorite! It cuts everything from watermelon to potatoes! You won’t regret this purchase!
I drink a cup of tea almost every morning, so getting a good tea kettle is no surprise! The fact that this tea kettle is kate spade new york and covered in polka dots makes things even better! This is such a fun statement piece for your kitchen!
These pots and pans are the very same ones we received as a wedding gift! And 14 years later, they are still great!! I use them every day and am super impressed with the quality! And don’t forget a stock pot as well!!
I am not joking when I say that I use this vacuum every single day at least one time! Needless to say, Sammy and the kids may make a few messes throughout the day! This vacuum is perfect for sweeping up those messes! It is also great for cleaning out my car! I can change the attachments to reach all the right places where Cheerios and other crumbs have tried to hide!
Here are a few other items I would highly recommend:
If you are a bride-to-be, now is the BEST time to register at Macy’s!! And don’t forget to sign up to be entered to win the registry of your dreams!!
A big thank you to Macy’s and ShopStyle for sponsoring this post!
