Welcome to the room where I spend most of my waking hours!! Oh, the kitchen!!! I must say, Brit and I lived in a small yellow house for the first 11 years of our marriage. And it had the tiniest kitchen with NO DISHWASHER!! So I was beyond thrilled to upgrade to a kitchen with a dishwasher! (It’s the little things, right!?)
The Kitchen
So, as I mentioned in an earlier post, the cabinets in the kitchen were sprayed white. They were stained wood before that. We also replaced the hardware! What a big difference a little paint and new hardware can make! Last summer, we added the subway tile backsplash as well! The kitchen table chairs are some of my favorites! I purchased the round basket on the table from Home Goods, but here is a similar one. The simple bar stools were a great fit too. We chose the color Thunder by Benjamin Moore to paint the walls. I love this color so much! If you are looking for a great neutral, look no further!
You may remember a Facebook post from a while ago, raving about my awesome new Farmer’s Market sign. (Make sure to like Megan’s page because she does awesome custom work!) We removed the cabinets on either side of the sink and added these fun open shelves! I love the look and the convenience. We purchased these brackets from Anthropologie and painted wood for on top. The lanterns were purchased at a garage sale years ago! Also, I love to put my dish and hand soap on a tray!
I also love this vintage feeder basket to store fruit! My in-laws purchased this from an antique store! And if you have the opportunity to put a pot rack in your kitchen–do it!! It frees up so much space in your cabinets and is so convenient too!
