Let’s venture upstairs! While we don’t get tons of guests, I am thankful to have this room for the ones we do get!! As we did with most rooms in this house, we changed the paint color and also sprayed the shelves and window seat white! The color in this room is Valspar’s Urban Sunrise. We used Benjamin Moore’s Gunmetal for the back of the shelves!
At our previous house, our dining room was yellow, and I had my collection of McCoy yellow vases on shelves in there. When we moved, I had knew I wanted to incorporate the yellow vases into one of the rooms. With the shelves already in the guestroom, yellow and grey seemed like the colors to use!
The bedding, once again, is from a hodge podge of places. Here is the exact striped duvetĀ that we purchased from IKEA. (You can get it on Amazon with free shipping!) It is checked on one side and comes with two checked standard shams as well. These are very similar to the standard shams that I used. I also used two yellow pattern Euro shams similar to these. The grey crown pillow was also purchased from IKEA, but here is a similar one.
The yellow lamps were a wedding shower gift. Here are some other fun yellow lamps though! Since this is the guest room, I also like to have the Wi-Fi password readily available for our guests. I made this cute sign and framed it for any guests we have.
When Briton’s grandmother passed away a few years ago, this was a piece we got from her! This was a piece once used by Brit’s great grandfather. I love the character of something old!
