I recently purchased this little gadget for my KitchenAid Mixer!!! Oh my goodness, this spiralizer is AMAZING!!!! (P.S. – I linked the least expensive one I could find, but it is refurbished. If you would rather not have one that is refurbished, click here to purchase this one.) I have only used this once, and already, I can’t wait to use it again!
Like many of you, I am really trying to make healthy meals for my family! I purchased a Veggetti (doesn’t that just sound naughty!?!?) a couple years ago! And while, essentially, it does the same thing, the spiralizer tool was so much easier to use and clean! It was SO fast! I just cut the ends off of my zucchini and followed the direction on my tool!
After I had the zucchini cut into zoodles, I cooked the on the stove for about 7 minutes using a little olive oil and salt. I will say, it looked like I had a ton of zoodles in the pan, but after it cooked down, I wish I would have made more. I used two medium zucchinis for our family of four.
It looks like the pan is so full of zoodles, but they really cooked down!
Also, I totally used to make my own homemade spaghetti sauce….. But then I discovered Rao’s Homemade Marinara!!!! Holy moly! This stuff tastes like my homemade sauce (maybe even better!), but it takes way less time to make! I usually brown some hamburger, add some onion, and then add one jar of sauce!
Busy Mom Tip: Brown two pounds of hamburger and buy the big jar of sauce (I get it at Costco). Then use part of the sauce for a meal now, and freeze the rest for a meal later!
Talk about a delicious meal! Even my kids loved it!!! Easy, healthy, AND delicious!! Mom for the win!
