All winter long, I kind of feel cooped up in the house! I feel like we hardly see our sweet neighbors! But when the warmer weather finally breaks, you can find our family outside almost all summer long!! We love to play basketball (well, I’m horrible, but Brit and the kids love it!), take bike rides, and take Sammy on walks! I love the fun days of summer where we trade our school clothes for “comfortable clothes” in Henry’s words! If Henry had his way, he would wear “comfortable clothes” all day every day! Briton and Henry love to play basketball together! And while Lucy is convinced she wants to be a cheerleader like her mom, she does love to dunk the basketball while her brother and dad are playing! Also, I am fairly certain that if Henry had a Facebook or Instagram page, he would make that dunking picture his profile picture! We all love these comfortable outfits! Briton was super excited because Kohl’s carries a Big & Tall version of his favorite basketball shorts! Because he is so skinny and tall, he can rarely find shorts that fit just right!

Last summer at four years old, Lucy learned how to ride her bike with no training wheels!!! (Thank you, Balance Bike!!!) Since that time, we have really enjoyed family bike rides together!! This is probably our favorite way to stay active during the summer! And while our favorite place to ride our bikes is to the ice cream shop, it all totally balances out, right?!?! Did you know that Kohl’s sells two piece sets for kids up to size 7?? This is a great, inexpensive way to get a comfortable outfit for your kids!

Going for a Family Walk

Another favorite way we like to stay active in the summer is by taking our sweet dog, Sammy, on a walk! We were total jerks in these pictures!!! Sammy was so excited when we put his leash on! He totally thought we were going on a long walk! Poor guy! We owe him a few long walks in the near future!
