A Probiotic Smoothie

Last year, I shared about my struggle with digestion. I had to have a colonoscopy at the age of 30, and I just felt uncomfortable for so much of the day because my stomach was out of whack. I feel like I am FINALLY getting it under control. But wow, it was super uncomfortable for many years until I figured out what I could and could not eat! One easy snack for me to grab is prunes! I know, I know! That totally makes me sound like a grandma, but did you know that they are a probiotic that delivers active cultures 10 times more effectively than yogurt!?! Mariani Probiotic Pitted Prunes are a great food to add to your diet!! Mariani Probiotic Prunes support overall wellness and digestive health, so you can feel better and be your best!

Before we dive in to the new recipe I created, here are a few things that I didn’t know about prunes. So this may be new to you too!!

      • Mariani prunes are a prebiotic, which the probiotic needs to feed off of. Prunes also have additional vitamins that are great for your health & wellness.
      • The Ganeden BC30 probiotic in Mariani Probiotic Prunes is unique. They are designed by nature to survive and thrive in conditions other probiotics cannot. By surviving, Ganeden BC30 delivers active probiotics ten times more effectively than the probiotics in yogurt.
    • Probiotic Prunes from Mariani are made using California grown prunes!

One thing that helps me get a good jumpstart to my day is having a smoothie! I always start my day with water, coffee, and a smoothie!! And so I got to thinking…. why not add a few prunes to my recipe to get my probiotic right in my breakfast?!?

I made smoothies for my neighbors and I while we were sitting around the pool! They just love to be my taste testers!! Here’s what I included in my recipe that served 4:

Optional: Add a tablespoon of peanut butter and a tablespoon of cocoa powder to make it a Peanut Butter Chocolate smoothie!

Add almond milk, prunes, and spinach to your blender. Blend on high until prunes are chopped off. Add chopped bananas and blend until smooth.
