7 Things You May Not Know About Me

With all the fabulous new followers on my Facebook page, I thought this would be a great opportunity for you to get to know me a little better!!

1. I am married to my high school sweetheart!
Briton and I have been dating since his freshman year of high school and my sophomore year! (Yes, I suppose that makes me a bit of a cougar!) We had study hall together, and the rest is history! We have now been married for almost 13 years, have two beautiful kids, and I can’t imagine spending life with anyone else!!
2. I have had two c-sections.
Well, it’s a long story…. but long story short, Henry was in distress when I was in labor, and I had to have an emergency c-section. My scar is vertical on my stomach because it was one minute faster to cut that way and get him out. When it came time to have Lucy, I actually enjoyed being able to schedule her grand entrance into the world!
3. I am a first grade teacher.
Last year marked the 13th year in my teaching career! That is so hard to believe. In those thirteen years, I have taught kindergarten, first grade, and fourth grade. Eleven of those years have been in first grade. Crazy fact – my first year, second year, and fifth year students all graduated in high school last year! And while I am taking a year off from teaching this year, I still consider myself a teacher! There are some things that just don’t leave you!
4. I play the piano.
I began taking piano lessons in first grade and took them until I was a senior in high school! I don’t play often anymore, but occasionally play in church!
5. I am the oldest of four.
I am the oldest of the four siblings in my family! I have one sister and two brothers. I am blessed to be living close to my entire family. And doubly blessed for my kids to grow up with family all around us.
6. I come from a family of teachers.
My mom and dad are both teachers! My mom teaches pre-kindergarten and my dad teaches high school science. My brother is also a teacher! Crazy! People have joked that we should start our own school.
7. The biggest challenge I faced when starting a blog was coming up with a great name.
I could not for the life of me think of a name! I thought for months about what I would call it. Silly, I know! Since my last name is “Post”, I finally came up with “Just Posted”!
I am grateful to have you reading this and look forward to getting to know you all better! Thank you so much for following along!
