How to Take your Table from Thanksgiving to Christmas

With Halloween behind us, it’s time to start looking ahead to Thanksgiving and Christmas! I am partnering with JCPenney to bring you a simple tabletop to take you from Thanksgiving to Christmas by just switching out a few pieces! We have an open concept house and both of our families live nearby! This year our house is the gathering spot for both Thanksgiving and Christmas! I am so grateful for JCPenney’s great prices that keep my house looking great without breaking the bank!

November 6, 2010

Picture

November 6, 2010 will always be remembered as one of the best and scariest days of our lives. On this morning seven years ago, our sweet Henry made his debut! And while this day was certainly one of the happiest days of our lives, it was also one of the scariest.

In the beginning of December of 2009, Briton and I found out that we were pregnant with our first baby! We were beyond excited! When I had a miscarriage in the middle of January 2010, the grief was overwhelming.

7 Things You May Not Know About Me

With all the fabulous new followers on my Facebook page, I thought this would be a great opportunity for you to get to know me a little better!!

Smiling More

Last year was a very tough year for me! While blogging sounds like rainbows and unicorns and Starbucks and selfies, it is really a ton of work. Last year, I was working 40+ hours a week teaching and then coming home and working 40+ hours a week blogging. I was stretching myself too thin and it was starting to show in more places than one. I went to my bi-annual dentist appointment, and my hygienist told me that I had a very small amount of gingivitis! WHAT?! Ugh! I normally get all perfect marks! She told me that this can be caused by stress and being in too much of a hurry when brushing my teeth. Ugh, again! Check and check! Stress and being in too much of a hurry were pretty much the themes of my life last year!

How to Cut a Blanket Scarf in Half

I love wearing blanket scarves in the fall and winter time, but they can be so bulky and a bit overwhelming! My solution for that is to just cut them in half! It still creates the look of a blanket scarf, but it eliminates half of the bulk! It’s so easy!!! The scarf I used for this tutorial is only $9.99 and comes in a variety of different colors. (I have the scarf in Plaid Blue)

Products I’m Loving from Beautycounter

I really just believe in these products! I love them not because of what is in them, but because of what is NOT in them! I have always been incredibly conscious of the foods that I am putting inside of my body! I try to eat well. But honestly, I had never really thought enough about what I was applying on the outside of my body! Several of my friends started selling Beautycounter, and I began trying some products! I have very sensitive skin and never had any problems with any product that I was using. After using several of the products, I decided to use and sell the products! I have reviewed many of them and will provide my opinions below.

A Probiotic Smoothie

Last year, I shared about my struggle with digestion. I had to have a colonoscopy at the age of 30, and I just felt uncomfortable for so much of the day because my stomach was out of whack. I feel like I am FINALLY getting it under control. But wow, it was super uncomfortable for many years until I figured out what I could and could not eat! One easy snack for me to grab is prunes! I know, I know! That totally makes me sound like a grandma, but did you know that they are a probiotic that delivers active cultures 10 times more effectively than yogurt!?! Mariani Probiotic Pitted Prunes are a great food to add to your diet!! Mariani Probiotic Prunes support overall wellness and digestive health, so you can feel better and be your best!

An Exciting Announcement

Well, it’s been one crazy year, and one that has exceeded my wildest dreams. You may remember reading my blog post that I wrote after one full year of blogging. I honestly had no idea how quickly things would take off, and I am so grateful.
