I am excited to finally be sharing my new home office on the blog – or as Briton likes to call it, “my second closet”! I guess it kind of is my closet and office…. a cl-office??? In less than a month, this space has helped make my day-to-day life working from home function so much better! I am also sharing the life lesson I learned along the way.
I know the world is different than what we are used to right now. But since we are all spending more time at home, this is a great opportunity to organize the rooms in your house. I know that when my house is organized, I feel like I can breathe better. I am sharing a peek into our master bathroom and giving some tips on how I organized it.
Not too long ago, Lucy requested a “big bed” so that she and her friends could sleep in it for slumber parties! So we decided to get her a bigger bed and redo a few things in her room! The biggest change was made by adding fabulous floral wallpaper to the one wall in her room behind her bed! She absolutely LOVES how it turns out!

Our hot tub quit working last summer! When we found out that is was going to be over $1000 to fix it, we started exploring other options for that space! A fire pit area seemed like a no-brainer since our house is the hangout place for all of the kids in the neighborhood! We were so excited to find these pieces from Macy’s at such amazing prices! Macy’s is having a HUGE sale with prices that can’t be beat! During their Big Home Sale, you can use code HOME from July 31st to August 4th to save even more!
I know, I know…. updating the garage seems like a silly room to update! But we don’t have a mudroom in our house, and having the kids just dump all of their stuff by the backdoor every day when they get home from school was really starting to get on my nerves! So, I had our fabulous wood worker build some shelves with hooks for the kids to hang their stuff on! BEST DECISION!!! I also added a few fun details to totally update the look of our garage! The paint color in the garage is “Benjamin Moore Fieldstone” – it’s a great neutral color! The doors were painted “Benjamin Moore Gunmetal”.
By adding one thing to our family room, I was able to completely change the look!!! I have been wanting to get hardwood floors throughout the first floor of our house for a while! But goodness, it is such an investment! By adding a rug, I was able to make our family room so much cozier! And while yes, it is cream, it is an indoor/outdoor rug and washes up so well! I have the 9 x 13 and it fits our space very well!
