One Pan Meal – Skillet Sausage & Rice

When Briton and I first got married over 16 years ago, his mom wrote down all of his favorite recipes and put them in a book for me! And while I love to try out a new recipe, I also love meals that are tried and true! Skillet Sausage & Rice is always a favorite at our house!


  • 1 package of Polish Sausage (or any sausage you prefer. Chicken sausage is great too!)
  • 1 onion chopped
  • 1 cup of minute rice (or two cups of cooked rice)
  • 1 cup of water
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 cup of peas (optional)


  1. Sauté chopped onion in a small amount of olive oil until onion is translucent.

2. Add rice and water. Or add pre-cooked rice.

3. Add sausage and cook until sausage is hot.

4. Scramble the three eggs in a separate bowl and add into mixture. Cook until eggs are done.

5. I like to sneak in a vegetable! So I usually add peas or broccoli! But this is optional.

Because I love this Always Pan so much, I have been using it non-stop! It is perfect for making this meal because the rice and eggs do not stick to the bottom!!
