My parents are both teachers at a Christian school in our town. When I was younger, my dad taught and my mom stayed home with me and my three siblings. As you can imagine, six people living on a private school teacher’s income made money tight. But I rarely remember feeling that way because we still did so many fun things as a family! My mom is from Tennessee, so every summer, we would make the 8-hour drive from Indiana to Tennessee to spend time with my mom’s family! We stayed at a national park there and always pitched a tent that our entire family slept in! There is just something about sleeping outdoors that is so fun for kids! I bought this $35 tent for my kids, and you would have thought I spent thousands of dollars on an elaborate gift! They are already asking when they get to use it again! From pitching a tent in your backyard to hiking mountain trails, Ozark Trail has so many amazing options for your outdoor needs.

I know, I know…. updating the garage seems like a silly room to update! But we don’t have a mudroom in our house, and having the kids just dump all of their stuff by the backdoor every day when they get home from school was really starting to get on my nerves! So, I had our fabulous wood worker build some shelves with hooks for the kids to hang their stuff on! BEST DECISION!!! I also added a few fun details to totally update the look of our garage! The paint color in the garage is “Benjamin Moore Fieldstone” – it’s a great neutral color! The doors were painted “Benjamin Moore Gunmetal”.
By adding one thing to our family room, I was able to completely change the look!!! I have been wanting to get hardwood floors throughout the first floor of our house for a while! But goodness, it is such an investment! By adding a rug, I was able to make our family room so much cozier! And while yes, it is cream, it is an indoor/outdoor rug and washes up so well! I have the 9 x 13 and it fits our space very well!
Still feeling a little craft tonight, Henry and I continued making some cute things for his class’s Valentine’s Day party! We were assigned the task of making treat bags. Now yes, it would be easy to buy some candy, stickers, pencils, etc. and there is NOTHING wrong with that! But We decided to do this cute counting activity instead! Henry’s job was to add 5 pieces of gum to every bag. I would have rather used gumballs, but alas, Kroger was out! Download the free printable here.
My best friend, Brooke, texted me today to ask if I had a Valentine’s Day printable for a Starbucks card! I thought it was a great idea! So here is another free printable for that is perfect for someone you love this Valentine’s Day! If there is one thing that most people love, it’s a Starbucks gift card or coffee gift card! And make the gift even cuter by downloading these free printables! This would be a great option gift option for a spouse, grandparent or teacher!
